Shelly Jensen

Shelly Jensen, MHA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, is an exceptionally experienced and passionate nurse leader, with experience in healthcare for the past 30 years. Her background in Maternal-Child care is deep, including care at the bedside as a NICU RN in both military and civilian healthcare settings, work across multiple disciplines and with providers as an executive nurse leader. Her management experience is broad, ranging from department management, unit/multi-departmental Directorship, and to her current role as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer for Post-Acute Rehabilitation. Shelly has served with AWHONN for many years as a member of the Board Selection Committee, as a state Treasurer, and was a 2018 Emerging Leader. Her depth in leadership, critical thinking, and patient-centered care is well-known within and outside of the St. Luke’s Health System, based in Boise, Idaho. Additionally, Shelly is an executive coach and helps other leaders in a variety of settings identify their leadership styles and put them to greater work. Shelly promotes self-care, self-reflection, and excellence and is beloved by those she has had a chance to lead. She holds a Masters in Heathcare Administration, is board-certified as an Advanced Nurse Executive (NEA-BC) and over 25 years of progressive nursing and nurse-leader experience. She is the proud mother of three children and enjoys riding bikes and visiting the southwestern desert with her husband.
